"CITRUS COUNTY, FL - Deputies in Floral City say a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and his wife have died in an apparent murder-suicide."According to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call was placed Sunday shortly after 3 a.m. regarding a possible domestic situation in the 4500 block of East Seese Lane.
"Investigators say they believe Eddie Silcox, 48, shot and killed Sandra Silcox, 48.
"Authorities reportedly found trooper Silcox after he apparently shot himself, and he was transported to Citrus Memorial Hospital -- where he also died from his wounds.
"Deputies say Eddie and Sandra Silcox had been married for 29 years, but that they had been experiencing marital issues -- resulting in a recent separation.
"Sheriff's officials say trooper Silcox served with the Florida Highway Patrol for 22 years, joining back in 1988.
"Detectives will continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the Silcox deaths, but they do say it appears to be a murder-suicide."
