Kidnapping Ends In Murder/Suicide
"GRANBY, CO - Two bodies were found inside a home in Granby Thursday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide, police said.
"On Wednesday, police in Parker, southwest of Denver, issued a radio broadcast that a 38-year-old woman had allegedly been kidnapped by her 53-year-old ex-boyfriend who had a criminal history which included a second degree murder conviction in 1987. He was suspected in a string of gruesome murders with as many as 17 immigrant farm hands.
"The suspect had some vehicles that were registered to an address on Saddle Horn Court in Granby, drawing the interest of Granby Police. Police say officers responded to the area, located one of the suspect's vehicles on an adjacent street, and set up a perimeter.
"Numerous attempts to contact the alleged victim and suspect via cell phone failed. A pole camera was also used to peer inside several windows, but no activity was observed, Granby Police said.
"At about 5:21 a.m., authorities broke a window in the lower part of the home to try and get a better view inside. At that point, a single gunshot was heard.
"Officers immediately entered the home and found the bodies of an adult male and adult female - the same two individuals involved in the reported kidnapping."
