Killer Has Second Thoughts About Suicide
"SOUTH FAYETTE TWP, PA - What began as an investigation into a house fire in South Fayette Township early this morning is now a homicide investigation.
"Police sources have confirmed that detectives are now looking into the possibility that a man who escaped from his burning home this morning killed his wife and intended to kill himself, but decided not to go through with a suicide attempt.
"According to South Fayette Township Police Chief Louis Volle, about 10 different fire companies responded to the fire at a home in the 100-block of Locust Lane just after 3:00 a.m.
"The unidentified man managed to jump from a second-floor window of the home. Officials found his wife dead inside.
"The man was taken to the hospital; but officials have not yet released his name or condition."
