Kids Found Unaware Of Murder/Suicide
"FATE, TX - The bodies of a woman and a man were found dead at a home in Fate Sunday night in what a Rockwall County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said was an apparent murder-suicide, after a man at that address called 911, said his wife had been unfaithful to him, requested police assistance and then hung up.
"When Rockwall County Sheriff’s officers arrived, Lt. David Davis said they found the bodies in the locked master bedroom. Each had been shot one time and a handgun was lying next to their bodies.
"`By all appearances at the crime scene their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide,` he explained.
"The deceased are a white female, Judith A. Johnson, 50, and a white male, Vincent Michael Oliver, 50.
"They lived in the 600 block of Payton Way in the Woodcreek subdivision in Fate.
"When officers arrived, Lt. Davis said they also found three children safe in another part of the house – 11 and 14-year-old males and a 15-year-old female. The children, who were watching TV, listening to music with headphones and sleeping, told officers they were not aware of the shootings.
"Relatives from elsewhere in Texas were immediately notified and the children have now been taken to live with them.
"The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Dallas Medical Examiner. An official cause of death will be announced soon.
"No other details are known at this time."
