Father, Daughter Found Dead

"LAKE LOTAWANA, MO - The victims of an apparent murder-suicide near Lake Lotawana were identified today as a 12-year-old girl and her father.

"The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said George Morejon, 58, apparently fatally shot daughter Gabrielle Morejon and then killed himself.

"The sheriff’s office received a 911 call about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday about two bodies at a residence in the 25900 block of Milton Thompson Road, said Sgt. Lane T. Eitel of the sheriff’s office.

"When they arrived, officers found the girl inside the residence and her father in a vehicle behind the home, Eitel said."
