Couple Found Dead In Home
"NELSON, VA - Authorities still have not identified the two people found dead Wednesday morning in what the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office has called an apparent murder-suicide in the Roseland area.
"Sheriff David Brooks, who declined to release the names, said Thursday morning that the incident at 3076 Dark Hollow Road involved a husband and wife and authorities don’t yet know the cause. A handgun was found at the scene.
"The couple lived in a well-kept brick and wood-frame home in rolling hills near Roseland, virtually next-door to Seamans Orchard.
"Neighbors and acquaintances gathered in the front yard of a nearby home today said they were surprised and said they had been told nothing. They said the couple had three sons, two of whom worked with their father.
"Brooks was not at the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office in Lovingston this afternoon a dispatcher said, and could not be reached for additional comment.
"Brooks said this morning that investigators do not know what time the incident happened.
"The sheriff’s office is not pressing charges and is not looking for any other suspects, Brooks said.
"Brooks said the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation and no outside agency has been called in."
