Murder/Suicide Puts Schools In Lockdown

"MEDFORD, OR - Medford Police say a man shot a woman then himself at a home on Beekman Drive, both died.

"Chief Randy Schoen says police received several calls to 9-1-1 at about 2:20 Monday afternoon.

"Police at first were not sure how many shots were fired or if there was a suspect on the loose, so they put both Washington Elementary and South Medford High Schools on lockdown.

"Those lockdowns are no longer in effect.

"Police say the female victim's daughter arrived home from school shortly after the shooting.

"Investigators are talking to the girl.

"Police are not sure of the relationship between the man and woman but say they were not married.

"The victim has been identified as Evalina Maria Lattoure, 39, of Medford.

"The suspect’s identity is not being released until next of kin has been notified."
