Neighbor Finds Three Dead In Trailer

"CORTEZ, CO - Three deaths in a trailer home in southwestern Colorado are likely a double fatal shooting and suicide.

"The bodies of two men and a woman were found Thursday morning in a home about 6 miles outside of Cortez.

"`We're still working on the motive, but at this time it does appear to be a double-murder, suicide,` Montezuma County Sheriff Gerald Wallace said today.

"A handgun was recovered by investigators at the scene.

"The sheriff's office identified the dead men as Jeffery Maze, 45, and Dale Theyer, 60.

"The woman, who was in her early 50s, was not identified, pending notification of relatives who live out of state, Wallace said.

"The sheriff did not indicate who shot whom.

"The bodies were found Thursday in a rural area home on the 13,000 block of County Road 32.

"Another resident on the property, checking on the residents of the home, found the bodies at about 10 a.m. and called 911, Wallace said.

"Agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are aiding investigators with the sheriff's office."
