Father And Daughter Found Shot On Sidewalk

"NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A street in Westchester County was the scene of a deadly shooting Wednesday morning.

"Witnesses tell police that a man opened fire on a woman at about 8 a.m. at Memorial Highway and Station Plaza in New Rochelle hitting her in the neck before turning the gun on himself.

"Alfredo Monegro, 61, of Manhattan and his daughter, Miosotis Monegro, 34, were found lying on the sidewalk. The elder Monegro was dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

"His daughter, a New Rochelle resident, was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center in critical condition, according to New Rochelle Police.

"A gun was recovered at the scene, added investigators.

"Police do not yet have a motive for the deadly shooting."
