SWAT Team Finds Bodies Of Elderly Couple

"TROUTDALE, OR — A husband and wife have been identified after an apparent murder/suicide in Troutdale, police said.

"Police responded Thursday to a 911 call in the 2200 block of SW Larsson Avenue, according to Sgt. Mark Shrake. The caller said he had just shot his wife.

"SWAT Officers entered and found the bodies of residents Frances Lopes, 92, and her husband, 87-year-old Edward J. Lopes, inside the home.

"Investigators believe Edward Lopes killed his wife and then killed himself."
