"History Of Fighting" Preceded Murder/Suicide

"HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are looking into an apparent murder-suicide last night in west Houston.

"It happened around 11:30pm at a home on Deerwood near South Ripple Creek. Investigators say two men went out earlier in the evening and got into an argument. When they got back home, police say one man shot his partner before taking his own life.

"`One was upstairs. He was the one that was murdered. And then the other man went downstairs and shot himself,` said Sgt. Kevin Tolls with the Houston Police Department.

"Neighbors told police the couple had a history of fighting between them.

"Investigators say both men appeared be in their 50s. Their names have not been released."
