One Dead, One Injured In Attempted Murder/Suicide

"LAKE FOREST, CA — An 80-year-old man killed himself in Lake Forest on Sunday after shooting his 68-year-old wife.

"The Orange County Sheriff's Department received a call from the wife in distress at about 8:25 a.m. on Sunday morning.

"She said her husband was very upset and was walking around with a handgun at their house at 22700 Manalastas Drive.

"When authorities arrived, they had to force their way into the residence.

"Sheriffs discovered the man dead in the garage with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was discovered at the scene.

"They found the wife in the garage with three gunshot wounds.

"She was conscious and was transported to a local hospital for surgery. Her condition is unknown."
