"LOUISVILLE, KY — Louisville Metro Police on Tuesday morning were trying to determine what led up to a Middletown shooting that left a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.
"Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said at 7:15 a.m. that police believe it was a murder-suicide but that investigators were not sure yet who the shooter was.
"Authorities have not yet released the names of the man and the woman.
"He said police discovered the bodies while making a reported domestic violence call to a home on the 11800 block of Wetherby Ave. between North Madison Avenue and Evergreen Road about 2:15 a.m. He said they had been to that location at least once before, also after receiving a report of domestic violence.
"Mitchell said a young child was also in the home at the time of the shooting. Mitchell said the child had been released to a family member.
"No other information was immediately available."
