Buckeye Hat Trick
"Columbus, OH - Three people are dead after a shooting last night in a North Linden home that police said was a double murder and a suicide.
"Columbus police said this morning that Phillip Columbus, 62, shot a man and a woman inside his 3001 Clevelawn Place home some time before 10:20 p.m., then turned the gun on himself.
"Police did not identify the pair, but said both appeared to be in their 30s.
"Clevelawn Place is just east of Cleveland Avenue near Westerville Road.
"Sgt. Dana Norman of the homicide squad said a 911 call was made from 2998 Clevelawn. A woman who had been shot in the neck ran to the house for help.
"Police found her on the side porch of that home. She was taken to Ohio State University Medical Center and died there about 11:45 p.m.
"When police went to 3001 Clevelawn, they found two people shot to death inside, Norman said. Police said this morning the victims had gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
"Several neighbors who did not want to give their names said they heard shouting and doors slamming in the house about 9:45 p.m. They said the noise sounded like an argument.
"Early this morning, the entire block around the house remained cordoned off and family members gathered near the police tape blocking off the home."
