Victim, Perp Were High School Graduates

"BELTON, MO - A former Mason City woman is dead and her husband is charged with her murder.

"Belton Police found Amber Hartwig, 36 shot to death at her home, just southeast of Kansas City on Tuesday evening.

"Michael Adams, was also found suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to a local hospital.

"A neighbor said the couple had been married for several years and had 2 children.

"Both Hartwig and Adams are graduates of Mason City High School.

"Adams is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

"He is currently being held on a $1 million cash bond in the Cass County Jail."
