RCMP Cops Find Four Dead

"SLAVE LAKE, Aberta, CA - Cops are coping after finding an entire family dead in their own home today.

"`(Murder-suicide) is likely going to be the finding, but we have to progress in the investigation if that statement is to be definitively stated,` said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Wayne Oakes.

"Slave Lake RCMP got a tip on the killing at 6:30 a.m. today.

"They rushed out a rural home near Smith, 205 km north of Edmonton after calling in emergency response teams from Edmonton and Red Deer, with dog and air support in tow.

"They arrived at 7 a.m. and locked down the property.

"With all officers in place, they entered the home at 2 p.m., finding a ghastly sight.

"`Four members of a family were found deceased,` said Oakes.

"There was no one found alive in the home, and cops haven't run into anybody on the property.

"Oakes said investigators are treating the case as a homicide, but are not looking for any suspects.

"`They don't believe anyone else is at risk,` said Oakes.

"He noted cops had never been called to the home due to domestic violence.

"Cops didn't release any details about the family members. Next of kin are being notified, said Oakes, but he wouldn't say if any residents of the home are unaccounted for."
