Couple Had "Prior Verbal Altercations"

"Santa Clarita, CA - A Santa Clarita man apparently killed his wife and then hanged himself in his backyard, authorities said today.

"A relative found the dead woman about 7:13 this morning inside a home in the 28000 block of Creston Court. The relative called authorities, who soon discovered the man hanging in the backyard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"The couple were going through a divorce and `had prior verbal altercations,` according to the department.

"The woman suffered blunt-force trauma to the head and chest. Both were pronounced dead at the scene."
