"Los Angeles, CA - A 5-year-old boy apparently was stabbed to death by a 30-year-old woman... possibly his mother... who then slit her wrists and died, police said today. "The two were discovered about 9:40 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of Vista Place near Garvanza Park, Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera said.
"Earlier this morning, police had said that a 5-year-old girl had been stabbed by her mother. Later, officials at the scene said the child was a boy whose age has not been confirmed. They also said it is not clear what the child's relationship is to the dead woman.
"The boy had been stabbed multiple times, and the woman's wrists were cut, said Herrera, adding that the information was preliminary.
"There was no immediate word on a motive."
