"BARSTOW, TX — Investigators are confirming that they are working a murder-suicide case.

"The Ward County Chief Deputy confirms tonight that both Joel and his wife Mary Bell Martinez were shot dead.

"Authorities say they were called to the scene at 2:30 this afternoon to 508 Brant Ave. where they found each dead of an apparent gunshot wounds.

"Joel was a volunteer fire fighter for Barstow.

"They leave behind two daughters.

"The bodies have been sent to Lubbock for further analysis to confirm who was shot first.

"Investigators are hoping the autopsy will confirm whom was shot first."
