Argument Escalates To Attempted Double Murder/Suicide

"WALDORF, MD — Police in Waldorf found a man and woman laying in the street outside their home early Tuesday morning, and a man dead inside the home.

"Around 5 a.m. Tuesday, police officers responded to a call on the 3000 block of Seagrape Court in Waldorf after a report of an argument that had turned into a shooting.

"A spokesperson for the Charles County Sherriff’s Office told WNEW police had initially responded to an assault in progress and were notified that an argument had escalated to a shooting after the call.

"Officers were able to remove the victims from the situation and transport them to a hospital with critical injuries.

"The spokesperson says a negotiator responded after information that the shooter was still in the home. Officers entered the home at approximately 9:15 a.m. and found the 33-year-old male dead from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"The shooter was later determined to be the son of the woman and stepson of the man found shot outside the home.

"Police say the mother and step-father have now been stabilized."
