Loud Argument Heard Before Gunshots
"BREMERTON, WA — Kitsap County sheriff's detectives are investigating after two people were found shot to death Sunday at a home in the Navy Yard City neighborhood of Bremerton, officials said.
"Deputies responded to the scene, a residence at 1609 Charleston Beach Road West, at about 12:40 p.m. after receiving a report of a possible shooting.
"Kitsap County sheriff's officials say neighbors on the street became concerned after finding a wounded dog and spotting visible bullet holes at the home.
"At first neighbors thought only the dog was injured. But when a young boy discovered a body at the front door, residents called 911.
"Deputies found two people dead—a man and a woman—when they arrived at the scene, and investigators say it appears to be a possible murder-suicide.
"Some neighbors say they heard two people arguing before the shooting.
"`I hear this lady ranting and raving—I can't make out what she's saying,` says neighbor George Savoy. `Twenty minutes go by, I hear bang-bang-bang.`
"`I got my shoes on, thinking somebody needs help and ran down, and there was a man laying on the front door steps, and a gun laying in between his legs on the steps,` says another neighbor, Crystal Varnes.
"Sheriff's officials are not confirming who pulled the trigger.
"The identities of the man and woman have not been released."
