Couple's Health Worries End In Murder/Suicide
"MEDINA, OH — A family member checking on an elderly couple made a tragic discovery Saturday night.
"Medina Police say in what was apparent frustration over a couple's failing health, Ronald Werner, 72 and his wife, Lillian Werner, 69 were found in their bed dead from an apparent murder-suicide.
"Initial reports indicate each suffered one gunshot wound. A small caliber handgun was found on the bed between the two.
"Police were called to the residence on Nottingham Drive at 11:35 p.m. Saturday evening, by a family member who had arrived at the residence to check on the well-being of the couple.
"When the family member entered the residence he discovered a note believed to have been written by Lillian, and immediately contacted the Medina Police Department.
"The bodies were transported to the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office for examination."
