Bodies Of Estranged Couple Found During Welfare Check

"ORLAND PARK, IL — An Orland Park couple who recently had separated were found dead Tuesday at a home in the 17100 block of Highwood Drive, Orland Park police said in a news release.

"A suicide note left by a 55-year-old man at the Hickory Hills home of his parents led police to the discovery of his body and that of a 48-year-old woman, police said. They tentatively were identified as a married couple who recently had separated and were living apart, police said.

"Orland Park police got a call from Hickory Hills police at 10:12 a.m. requesting a well-being check at the residence, police said. Police entered the home and found two bodies inside.

"Police did not identify the couple because family members still were being notified about the deaths, police said.

"The case appears to be the result of a domestic dispute, and no suspects were being sought as of Tuesday afternoon, police said. No weapon was mentioned in the news release, and police said the cause and manner of death were pending.

"The bodies were taken to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, and autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday morning, police said."
