Three Injured In Attempted Double Murder/Suicide

"LAS VEGAS, NV — Three people are hospitalized with stab wounds in what North Las Vegas Police are calling an overnight attempted murder/attempted suicide.

"Officers responding to reports of multiple stabbing victims arrived shortly after 3:30 Saturday morning at a house in the 2600 block of East Tonopah Street, near North Civic Center Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. There, they found a 32-year-old woman, a 15-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man all suffering from stab wounds

"Officers indicated the adults are married and in the process of divorcing. The estranged husband, they said, forced his way into his wife’s home and allegedly stabbed her multiple times. The woman's 15-year-old son tried to intervene on his mother's behalf and also was stabbed. The husband then began stabbing himself before police arrived.

"After police arrived, the three were transported to University Medical Center, where the mother was in critical condition this morning, according to authorities. The boy and the suspect were hospitalized in serious condition.

"Police said seven children, ages 4-16, including the 15-year-old boy, were in the home at the time of the attack. The relationship between the husband and children was not immediately clear. The children are in the custody of Child Protective Services until immediate family can be notified."
