"SPOKANE, WA — A Spokane man arrested after allegedly killing his 20-year-old girlfriend told students at Gonzaga University to go inside as he ran from police while holding a gun.

"24-year-old Tristen Jordan is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after killing his girlfriend, according to Police.

"Students reported seeing Jordan run past the Gonzaga University campus with a gun early Sunday morning.

"`He said, 'Go Home, Guys'`, according to freshman Carson Thompson. `My friends heard him say something like, 'God is your savior.'`

"Thompson and his friends returned to their dorm then heard several gunshots.

"Police say the suspect shot a pistol at several cars parked under a nearby dorm then shot himself in the head.

"They found him at about 2:30 on Sunday morning.

"Police expect the suspect to make a full recovery.

"The suspect's girlfriend was found dead inside her home about eight blocks away. Police say she was shot in the face at least once.

"Police identified the victim as Samantha Franco. Friends and family of the victim are planning a candlelight vigil to honor her life."
