Murder/Suicide Claims Life Of 7 Year Old Boy
"LONE JACK, MO — The Jackson County Sheriff's Office was assisting Lone Jack Police with a death investigation late into the night Monday.
"Police Chief Bill Forbes said it was family members of the deceased who contacted officers shortly at approximately 7:05 p.m. to say they discovered the two bodies when they entered the home on the 300 block of Pecan Tree Avenue. Forbes said the man was in his 30s and the boy was 7 years old. He would not reveal how the two were related, pending further family notification.
"He said there was no sign of forced entry, and Jackson County Col. Ben Kenney said there was no reason for residents to fear a murder suspect at large. Neither would call it a murder-suicide officially until obtaining an autopsy report. Chief Forbes did, however, describe the circumstances as `very sad.`"
