Attempted Murder/Suicide Leaves One Dead
"ELBERTA, AL — Police say an Elberta man attacked his wife with a knife while she was still asleep Saturday morning. Eveyln Polk was stabbed multiple times in the head and chest. Evelyn managed to escape and run to a neighbor's house to call 911, but before police could arrive, her husband pullled a gun and shot himself.
"Eddie Polk was pronounced dead at the scene. Evelyn Polk was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She's expected to be okay.
"It happened early Saturday morning at the couple's mobile home on Daw Road off County Road 83. Investigators say just two days ago, Eddie Polk tried to kill himself. Investigators say Polk tried to overdose on prescription sleep pills."

EDDIE DUANE POLK IS MY BROTHER , I HAVE READ MANY DIFFERNT NEWS REPORTS ABOUT WHAT HAPPEN,ONE REAL IMPORTANT THING THAT WAS LEFT OUT OF THE NEWS REPORTS IS THAT HE SUPPOSILY CUT HIS OWN THROAT BEFORE SHOOTING HIM SELF IN THE HEAD I SPOKE TO THE WIFE IN THE HOSPITAL AND HER STORY WAS SHE SAW IT ALL, AND HAD TO STEP OVER HIS BODY TO GO TO NEIGHBORS, THE NEWS REPORT SAID SHE GOT FREE FROM HIM AND WHILE SHE WAS AT NEIGHBORS BEFORE COPS ARRIVED HE HAD SHOT HIM SELF.... MY BROTHER WAS MURDERED PLAIN AS DAY, SHE RUN OFF WITH A MAN TO COSTA RICA BEFORE EVEN PICKIN UP HIS ASHES THAT OUR FAMILY PAID FOR BUT WOULD NOT LET US HAVE ANY FOR OUR NECKLACES...EJ YOU MAY BE ABLE TO HIDE FOR EVERY BUT GOD. JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MY BRO...MARILYN POLK HICKS
