Domestic Dispute Leaves One Dead, One Critical
"WEST GOSHEN, PA — A 37-year-old Chester County woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head this morning after an apparent murder-suicide attempt by her estranged husband, police said.
"West Goshen Township officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Steward Lane at 5:34 a.m. There, they found Mary Takacs bleeding from a head wound. Her estranged husband, Michael Takacs, 53, was lying on the kitchen floor and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
"Mary Takacs was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
"West Goshen Police Capt. Joseph J. Gleason said that an investigation is continuing, but early indications suggest a domestic dispute. He said Michael Takacs had moved out of the residence about two months ago and was living in an apartment nearby.
"Two boys, ages 9 and 2, were in the home at the time and were not injured, Gleason said. He said both boys were in the temporary custody of friends."
