One Dead In Attempted Murder/Suicide

"GUNLOCK, KY — A double shooting leaves one man dead and a teenager in the hospital.

"It happened in the Molly Branch area of Magoffin County.

"Police say a man shot a 19-year old before killing himself.

"The Magoffin County Sheriff's Department, Kentucky State Police and the Magoffin County Rescue Squad were all at the scene on Highway 7 on Wednesday afternoon.

"`Received a call at around 4:01 p.m. about a shooting in Gunlock, Kentucky of Magoffin County,` Deputy James Harless said.

"Police are unable to give much information about this at this time because it is an ongoing investigation but say two males were involved in this shooting.

"`Nineteen year old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds who was treated and transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia. The shooter is a 36 year old white male with apparent self inflicted gunshot wound,` Deputy Harless said.

"The Magoffin County Coroner confirmed the older victim was shot in the head and was dead at the scene.

"The body of the 36-year-old was taken to Salyersville Funeral Home.

"Police have not released the names of those involved."
