Victim Survives With Minor Injuries
"KNIGHTDALE, NC — A man shot his wife inside their Knightdale home Saturday afternoon before turning the gun on himself, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"She was taken to WakeMed Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
"Officers arrived at the home, at 201 Hope Valley Road, shortly after 4 p.m. A 14-year-old child was inside the home at the time, but was not injured, police said.
"A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said she saw a teenage girl run from the home screaming late in the afternoon.
"No other details were released."

ReplyDeleteLook at it in StreetView from the map link and compare that to the video and pictures at WRAL. Zillow says it was built in 2007.
I hope the girl and her mom can put this behind them and get on with their lives.
i dont believe he would just do that she no doubt drove him to do that or maybe she did it and covered it up being shes a correctional officer they know how to stage scenes

This incident is very unfortunate and tragic. I can't even begin to imagine what drove him to this point. I hate that things got so bad that he wasn't able to talk to anyone. I previously worked with Richard and this is not the man I knew. Richard was a very kind and hardworking man. He was always smiling and that's how I'd like to remember him. My prayers and condolences are with the family. R.I.P. Richard lee Roberts Jr.

ReplyDeleteThe Richard I knew from VA just wouldn't go out like that.I do know that if it was supposed to be a murder/suicide only the child would be alive today..My prayers are with your family Richard,but I hope that a thorough investigation would take place. I just can't see it going down the way it's being portrayed...thanks for all the laughs at 1631...
ReplyDeleteI have spent alot of time with both victims in recent years. Rich was an awesome man. For those of you who said that he was drove to do what he did; you're absolutely correct. Kia could not be satisfied; her needs for attention, money, and infidelity were insatiable. Not only that, but she'd dog him out, then take him back, and this cycle continued for at least the past 3 years or so. He could've left, but his love for her was too much to abandon. I'm so disappointed in Kia; but, she'll have to live with her part in all this for the rest of her life. And, she'll have to face their children and his family and know that she could've prevented all this. Prayerfully, she'll ask for forgiveness from God and Rich's family.
