Three Found Dead In Town Home

"SUNRISE, FL — Three people died in a shooting inside a town home on Sunday night, police said.

"They're not seeking any suspects in the shooting, said Sergeant Rodney Hailey, because the `situation seems to have been contained.`

"`It doesn't appear anything happened outside the residence,` he said.

"Police took a 911 call around 7 p.m. for shots fired at 4004 Del Rio Way, a town home with five or six units inside, Hailey said.

"They found three people shot inside.

"`One was still alive when officers arrived,` Hailey said.

"The person was taken to Broward General Medical Center, and was pronounced dead there, Hailey said.

"Detectives were questioning neighbors and scouring the crime scene around 10 p.m. The investigation was "still very preliminary" Sunday night.

"A 5-year-old who was in the residence just prior to the shooting left to warn a neighbor of `the situation` inside the town home, Hailey said.

"The child made it safely to the neighbor's home, Hailey said, and was at the police station later Sunday night.

"The identities of the dead were not released, pending notification of their families. The relationships of the three people were also not known, and all three had different last names, Hailey said."
