15 Year Old Girl In Critical Condition

"DETROIT, MI - A 15-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot by her mother, who then shot and killed herself, on Detroit’s east side Saturday afternoon.

"Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said the 53-year-old woman was suffering from cancer and had been suicidal.

"The shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the family’s home in the 11500 block of College at Gunston.

"No one else was injured, but it was unclear if others were in the home. Stephens said the teen was taken to the hospital.

"The victims’ names have not been released, and the shooting remains under investigation."
