Couple And Family Dog Found Dead In Trailer

"OCALA, FL – In happier times, George R. Strobo and his wife Jonalyn Maureen Strobo loved criss-crossing the country in their camper.

"On Thursday, sheriff's deputies found the 48-year-old man and his 49-year-old wife shot to death inside a travel trailer at the Pilot Travel Center at Interstate 75 and County Road 484.

"Marion County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Bureau Chief Robert Sandlin said Friday that the deaths were a murder-suicide.

"Sandlin said sheriff’s officials recovered three guns inside the trailer; two .357 handguns and a Derringer. The Derringer was found wrapped inside a blanket, along with the body of the couple’s beloved 14-year-old Chihuahua, Dolly, who also died from a gunshot wound.

"`At this point in the investigation, the only two people involved in this case are the ones we located in the trailer,` said Sandlin.

"He would not reveal whether or not any of the guns were used in the shooting.

"Although an autopsy was conducted Friday on both victims, Sandlin declined to say where they were shot or otherwise elaborate on the fatal wounds.

"He did say, however, that several handwritten notes were found near the bodies and that the couple were in close proximity to each other.

"The couple’s son, Michael Strobo, 27, said in a telephone interview Friday from his home in Texas that Florida was his parents’ favorite destination because of its warm weather and coastlines.

"The last time he saw his parents was in April, when they visited him and his girlfriend in Texas before heading back to Florida.

"`It’s a very shocking situation. Words cannot describe how I feel,` an emotional Strobo said."

  1. If you wanna use my family for your blog, at least get the details correct and not omit what benefits your sick blog. My family members were ill. Perhaps you didn't read that. And if you did, why not include that? Why not include that the medicine they were taking has caused death itself?? No, this was NOT a murder/suicide. It was a husband who loved his wife so much, he helped her and then made it so he was with her forever.

  2. Sounds like the person commenting on "their family", needs a psych eval. To say that closure, indicates a very sick individual that is obviously not a Christian. You need HELP!!!!!

  3. I totally agree with the person suggesting getting help. I guess the poor dog asked to be "taken along on the family journey to hell?". Ok, you might want to ck into a psychiatric hospital before we have another story to post.

  4. Really?! I NEED a psych eval?! I am not the 'sick' person(s) who keeps a murder/suicide blog!! Get a life.... My point is, if y'all wanna reference MY family for your stupid 'blog', get the facts straight.

  5. Denial, denial, denial! Sounds like an unstable family member. Whatever you say, as long as it makes you feel comforted! Really? PATHETIC, you are!!! Guess you better warn your current or future spouse, if you get ill...run for the hills (and take the family pets)!

  6. What am I denying? I know the facts. You clearly don't. So, with that in mind, no longer gonna waste my time on the sick people that get off on other peoples pain and keep a blog of murder/suicides. Clearly I am the pathetic one.....I forgot....
