Bodies Found In Ohio Field

"MARENGO, OH — A murder-suicide is suspected after two decomposing bodies were discovered in rural Morrow County on Wednesday night.

"The bodies of a man and woman were found near County Road 21, just east of Ohio 61 in the southern part of the county, according to a Morrow County Sheriff’s report.

"A pickup, which was reported stolen July 18 from a construction company in Lorain County, was parked nearby.

"Investigators said the couple had not been identified. The bodies were taken to Franklin County for autopsy, Morrow County Sheriff Steve Brenneman said.

"Neighbors in the area told investigators the truck had been parked in the driveway entrance to a field for several days.

"`It’s unpleasant,` Brenneman [said]. `The bodies have been there for quite some time.`

"Authorities were alerted to the stolen Ford F550 when a neighbor called the sheriff’s office around 8:30 p.m. The sheriff said nearby residents became concerned and discovered the bodies when they approached the truck.

"The bodies were lying about 25 to 30 feet away in a wooded area, Brennaman said.

"Deputies said a handgun was recovered at the scene and the deaths were being investigated as a possible murder-suicide."
