Family Dispute Leads To Double Murder/Suicide
"FRESNO, CA - Three people were found shot to death at a northwest Fresno apartment complex Tuesday night in what may be a murder-suicide, Fresno police said.
"Lt. Phil Cooley said police were called to the Villa Siena apartment complex at 6161 N. Figarden Drive about 6:30 p.m. by a report of a shooting.
"When officers arrived, they found one victim, a 20-year-old man, dead by an upstairs apartment. Officers then found two other people, a 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, dead in a downstairs apartment.
"Lt. Mark Salazar said the three victims lived in the downstairs apartment and were related, although he didn't know precisely what the relationship was.
"Salazar said a family dispute led to the shooting. It appears the 51-year-old man did all of the shooting, he said. All three victims were shot in their upper bodies.
"Police recovered a firearm, and are checking to see whether it was used in the murder-suicide. Salazar didn't say what kind of firearm was involved.
"Some residents of the gated apartment complex said they didn't hear gunshots and didn't know anything had happened until they heard the police sirens. The neighbors said they did not know the victims."
