Couple Had History of Domestic Violence

"SAN PABLO, CA —Police say a San Pablo man killed his longtime girlfriend with a rifle Thursday afternoon before turning the weapon on himself.

"Friends and family heard nothing from 47-year-old Cenobia Gonzales or 51-year-old Nilsson Steven for two days, before a relative went to their home on the 2900 block of Willow Avenue and saw something amiss through the window, San Pablo police Detective David Neece said.

"Police arrived about 2:40 p.m. and found both people dead from gunshot wounds. Police believe Steven fired the shots.

"The couple dated about 10 years, and had a history of domestic violence, police said."
