"ALTHA, FL — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide in the Altha area, Sheriff David Tatum confirmed Sunday.
"Investigators learned of the incident about 2 p.m. Saturday, he said. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy today, and investigators said they would release more details about the case.
"The incident happened at 23579 State 71, about 4 miles south of Altha. Tatum said two shots were fired in the incident but declined to release the names of the people involved. He described them as a formerly married couple but was unsure about how long the couple had been divorced.
"Law enforcement officers had no recollection of physical fights or other disturbances from the couple, Tatum added.
"It was sunny and quiet in this rural area of Calhoun County on Sunday afternoon.
"Neighbors were outside talking, but when a reporter tried to ask them about the situation, they refused to comment. Another neighbor said he didn’t know anything about what had happened. The clerk at a nearby gas station said she had just heard about the slayings but added that she knew nothing about the situation."

Usually you can't shut the neighbors up.
ReplyDeleteI've been following this story since Saturday and no one's been talking. The cops are still tight-lipped about the whole affair.
Why such a delay, no news, no names released after this many days.
