Suspicious Deaths Were Murder/Suicide
"TUCSON, AZ — Tucson police were at the scene Saturday of two suspicious deaths in downtown Tucson. On Saturday night, they confirmed that both died as a result of a murder suicide.
"Sgt. Matt Ronstadt said the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a home in the 100 block of South Melrose, south of Congress Street and west of Grande Avenue, Saturday morning.
"He did not identify the individuals or say how they died.
"Ronstadt said Tucson police were called to the home on Wednesday to do a welfare check after they were contacted by Los Angeles police looking for a woman reported missing and who was believed to be at that address.
"Tucson police were unable to `establish contact with anyone inside the residence," he said, and "there was no evidence of foul play.`
"Tucson police advised LAPD that they were unable to contact anyone at the home.
"On Saturday, the property's landlord called police because the occupants hadn't been seen in several days.
"Police found the two bodies inside the property.
"The bodies will undergo autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.
"Police are continuing their investigation and ask that anyone with information call 911."
