Landlord Finds Bodies

"CLARKSBURG, MO — Preliminary investigations reveal the deaths in Moniteau County to be a murder/suicide.

"The bodies of 51-year-old Charles Wood and 61-year-old Judy West of Clarksburg were found deceased in Clarksburg. Medical examiners' preliminary results are that both died from gunshot wounds to the head. Details ruled West's death as a homicide and Wood's as a suicide.

"The landlord of the house said the bodies were found Monday. Moniteau County Sheriff's Department does not know exactly how long the bodies' have been there, but that it has been a while. They do not know the relationship of the two victims at this time. All they know is that the two resided in the home at 400 Academy Street.

"Missouri Highway Patrol will now take over the investigation. The sheriff's department emphasizes that they believe this is an isolated event and there is no threat the community."
