Couple Found In Burning Home

"NOGALES, AZ — Police have identified the victim of a homicide Sunday in Nogales as 24-year-old Katie Lynn Lemar.

"Lemar was found dead in a burning home on N. Highland Drive Sunday morning. The Nogales Police Department said Tuesday that an autopsy showed she died from asphyxiation.

"Lemar’s husband, 56-year-old Timothy Allen Lemar, was found alive in the same home and was flown to a Tucson hospital with self-inflicted injuries. He was in a medically induced coma as of Monday morning, NPD said.

"He is suspected of murdering his wife before trying to commit suicide by slashing his arm and chest.

"Police say that at the time of her death, Katie Lynn Lemar was living alone in a Highland Drive residence operated by The Living Center, an organization that serves people recovering from drug and alcohol dependency."
