Thirtysomething Murder/Suicide

"LAWNDALE, CA — In what authorities said might be a murder-suicide, a man and woman were found shot to death today inside a Lawndale apartment after relatives asked sheriff's deputies to check on their welfare.

"Coroner's Office Assistant Chief Investigator Ed Winter said the Sheriff's Department reported the death as a possible homicide-suicide, but that has not been confirmed.

"The bodies were discovered about 9:45 a.m. in an apartment in the 14600 block of Eastwood Avenue, sheriff's Lt. Matthew Burson said.

"Relatives who had not heard from the male resident for a few days asked deputies to check on him. His relationship to the woman was not immediately known, Burson said.
Three people believed to be family members or friends stood on the street outside the apartment Monday but declined to talk.

"Names of the victims were not immediately released. Both were believed to be in their 30s."
