Mother And Son Found Dead In Home

"SUNNYVALE, CA — A Sunnyvale mother fatally shot her disabled adult son Tuesday night before turning her gun on herself, authorities said.

"The bodies of the mother, who was in her 50s, and her 22-year-old son were found in a home on the 800 block of Nectarine Avenue shortly before 7:45 p.m., said Capt. Dave Verbrugge of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

"The son suffered from an unspecified medical condition that required his mother to take care of him, Verbrugge said. Their names have not been released.

"Officers interviewed a resident of the home but provided no further details on the circumstances leading up to the shooting."
