Domestic Argument Turns "Ultraviolent"

"ST AUGUSTINE, FL — An apparent domestic argument turned ultraviolent at the north end of Queen Road early Tuesday, leaving one man shot to death in his car and another dead in what is believed to be a suicide inside their home.

"According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, the victim found inside his Kia Rio was Harry Lee Brano, 71, of 207 Queen Road.

"Reports said that a man ran from the vehicle and went into the house. Shortly afterward, and before deputies arrived, a shot was fired.

"Inside, deputies found Francisco C. Gutierrez, 47, of the same address.

"Though they lived in the same house, they were not related, deputies reported.

"Sheriff's Office news releases, public records, and witness and neighbor statements indicate that Gutierrez had fired multiple rounds outside their blue-and-white home about 9:30 a.m. as Brano tried to drive off.

"Both men lived in the house with Gutierrez's wife and her three young children."
