"Gun! Gun! Shoot! Shoot!"

"HOUSTON, TX — Three children were fatally shot in northeast Harris County on Sunday morning in what officials called a possible attempted triple murder-suicide.

"The bodies of the three children — all believed to be younger than 13 — were found this morning in the 13000 block of Homestead.

"Their father, also shot, was unconscious when authorities arrived. He was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

"Neighbors said that two girls and a boy visited their father on weekends at his apartment next door to the A&D Food Market, a convenience store that he owns.

"According to neighbors, the children's mother has not lived there for at least a year. Another woman, possibly elderly, moved in to help several months ago.

"The house has had a history of domestic violence, neighbors said, and police were at the address about a month ago.

"Around 10:30 a.m., neighbor Julio Rodriguez said he heard the woman screaming for help in broken English.

"The woman was hysterical, flailing her arms for help, Rodriguez said.

"`I heard her screaming 'Gun! Gun! Shoot! Shoot!',` Rodriguez said. `I got scared because I knew there were kids in there.`

"He called 911.

"Police are still investigating."
