Shooter Faced Multiple Charges In Court

"MARTINS FERRY, OH - Police said a Martins Ferry Couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide on North Ninth Street.

"Police have identified the couple as Randy Shrodes, 55 and his wife Amy of 1411 North Ninth St.

"They said Randy Shrodes shot his wife then turned the gun on himself.

"Police have confirmed Randy Shrodes was to appear in court today to face charges of DUI with failure to control, carrying a weapon while intoxicated ,and improper handling of a firearm.

"Police were called to the home after 11 a.m. today after receiving a call from neighbors.

"That's when police discovered the bodies.

"A family member said Shrodes is the son of ex-police chief and former mayor Lloyd Bud Shrodes who died last month."
