Death In The Front Yard

"DEBARY, FL — A man who shot and killed his wife, then himself in an apparent murder-suicide late Monday afternoon died later at a hospital, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

"Investigators have not yet released the names of the man and woman who were killed.

"Deputies said someone called 9-1-1 about 5:35 p.m. today to report that two people had been shot in the front yard of 39 Catalina Drive.

"When deputies and paramedics responded, they said they found a woman dead on the ground and a man nearby who was injured but still alive.

"The man was transported by a sheriff's helicopter to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He died after arriving.

"Investigators said the man and woman who died in the shooting were a married couple."
