Violation Of Court Order Ends In Murder/Suicide

"WEST FORK, AR — A man appeared at a home on Campbell Community Building Road north of West Fork this afternoon and shot his wife to death, then committed suicide.

"Washington County deputies responded to the home around midafternoon. Dispatch records indicate a caller to the sheriff's office had reported violation of a court order of protection. Sheriff Tim Helder later said the wife had such an order against her husband.

"Helder said the woman had filed for divorce.

"Names of the husband and wife have not been released.

"The shootings occurred in a rural area of Washington County, but the gravel road is populated by several homes."
