"State Of Despair" Preceded Murder/Suicide
"DENVER, CO — Police are investigating a potential murder-suicide in west Denver Tuesday evening.
"The call came over the police scanner as multiple gunshot wounds, one self-inflicted at a home on 3847 Bryant Street.
"But police won't confirm how the man and woman died.
"`We are investigating this as a possible murder suicide,` says Denver Police Lt. Matt Murray.
"The homeowner lives there, and had rented a room to a man neighbors identify as Steve Romero.
"Neighbors say Romero had a girlfriend, and point out her car parked outside the home.
"`They had a relationship, the two people. I don’t think both people lived there at the time,` says Murray.
"According to Murray, the bodies were found relatively close together, but he wouldn't disclose which room they were found in.
"`A family member came home and found them in the home and called us,` says Murray.
"A neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, says Romero was going through a `state of despair,` and that he was having `personal trouble with the economy` to the point that it `impacted his ability to keep up with things.`"
