Victim Drives Herself To Hospital
"COLUMBIA, SC — A 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were shot at a residence licensed as an in-home childcare center called Shirley Tucker Daycare, 1612 Summit Ridge Drive, the Richland County Sheriff's Office said.
"Richland County Coroner Gary Watts ruled the 18-year-old's death a suicide. The deceased is Henry Ellison, 18, who lived at the home, Watts said. Ellison first shot his girlfriend, whose name has not been released. She drove herself to the hospital and does not appear to have life-threatening injuries, Watts said.
"While children were present in the childcare center, no children were harmed in the incident. The children were inside the home, and the shootings took place outside.
"It was unclear if either of the victims worked or had children at the daycare, but personnel with the sheriff's department's Victims' Services Unit were on the scene caring for them until parents could be notified to come pick them up."
