No Signs Of Forced Entry In Death Of Elderly Couple


"SHILOH, OH — Authorities are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife at a rural Shiloh home.

"Richland County Sheriff's deputies responded around 10:30 a.m. Friday to a call about a shooting at 1848 Shatzer Road.

"Harold and Virginia Smedley, both 79, were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Gary Smith, an investigator with the Richland County Coroner's office.

"An autopsy is scheduled today at the Summit County Medical Examiner's office.

"Sheriff's Capt. Eric Bosko said a weapon was recovered at the couple's home, but declined to offer additional details. No signs of forced entry were reported at the residence."
